It is with utmost grief and sadness that I must inform the TCOMD community of the passing of Cy (Seymour) Seltzer.
Cy leaves behind his sons Michael, Lee and Robb; grandchildren and a great-grandson.
Robb, our synagogue Parnas (President) and Mindy brought Cy down to Florida after the death of Elaine, Robb's mother and Cy's wife of 64 years. It was the TCOMD community that had the merit to provide Cy the opportunity to be called to Torah for the first time in 75 years.
The funeral will be in Detroit on the last day of Hol haMoed Pesah, this Sunday. Shiva will be observed starting on Wednesday, April 23rd at the Seltzer Residence here.
Tenuhamu Min HaShamayim
HaMaqom Yinahem Otam, b'tokh sha'ar avelei Tsion Virushalayim.
May Robb, Mindy, and all their family, be comforted from Heaven; to find comfort amongst the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.
The Seltzer Family requests that donations made in Cy's memory be directed to TCOMD.
Zikhronot - Remembrances
After so many years, Cy taught us that we must always seize our moments to grow - for I remember that Shabbath Morning here in Mount Dora, When Shmuel ben Reuven (Cy) was called to Torah, 75 years after the last time Cy received aliyah; the tears streaming down his eyes as he recited the blessings - and before my eyes I saw a great soul grow even greater - Abba Hayyim
